Exercise for Women

Balance and Bone Density

Menopause can be a challenging time for women, afterwards there is a large change in hormones. The loss of oestrogen, which partly is responsible for the preservation of calcium and is a sex hormone, reduces bone density which can increase chances of developing osteoporosis.

Resisted exercise is important to maintain and improve bone density as well as support your joints to be able to keep you mobile. Balance training is important to improve proprioception and reduce the likelihood of falls.
