FAQs
Physiotherapy is the practice of diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiovascular conditions. The aim of physiotherapy is to work in unison with the patient to restore wellbeing whilst maintaining quality of life.
An initial consultation takes 45-60 minutes, follow-up sessions take 30-40 minutes. The initial consultation requires more time as the therapist must perform a thorough medical history and physical examination in order to diagnose and treat your condition. For complex conditions or multiple injuries longer bookings may be required.
On your first visit the physiotherapist will inform you of the expected prognosis and treatment plan of your condition
You should wear clothing that is comfortable and easily allows the therapist access to the injured area. Bring a pair of shorts with you if the injury is to the lower-limb. Draping is provided if necessary.
Our aim is to work with you to manage your injury and return to levels of pre-injury activity. Our practice offers holistic, evidence-based treatment with an emphasis on manual therapy and exercise prescription. Common treatments include joint mobilisations, soft-tissue release, exercise program (stretches, strengthening), self management strategies, Clinical Pilates, group exercise classes, dry-needling, postural re-education and sports-taping.
You should bring along any referrals, X-rays, MRI or Ultra-sound scans that you have had relating to your injury.
All of our staff are Workcover NSW qualified and are highly skilled in restoring our patients back to workplace capacity.
Home visits are available for patients who are unable to travel to the practice or whose condition prevents them from leaving home.
A bladder diary is an essential part of your pelvic floor assessment. It allows us to understand how your bladder is functioning and what might be triggering your pelvic floor or incontinence issues. The diary can be downloaded here and filled in for 5 consecutive days before your initial pelvic floor assessment.
Your session may be bulk-billed if you have a valid GP Management Plan ( TCA - team care arrangements for physiotherapy). Please check with your GP if you are eligible and provide us with the paperwork on your first consultation..
